After more than twenty years away from Carnival Cruise Line, my husband and I stepped back on board, and I can honestly say, we were pleasantly surprised in the best way. What began as a professional Seminar at Sea quickly turned into a reminder of how fun, thoughtful, and well-rounded a Carnival vacation can be.

🚢 First Impressions of the Carnival Glory

As seasoned cruisers, we weren’t quite sure what to expect after such a long hiatus, but the Carnival Glory welcomed us with open arms. Our focus was twofold: getting to know the ship and experiencing Carnival’s brand-new private destination, Celebration Key. We also spent a half-day in an onboard seminar with our fantastic BDM, Katy Rose-Friedman, learning more about what’s new and evolving with Carnival.

From updated spaces to better dining and more intentional adults-only areas, it was clear Carnival has grown in all the right ways.

Carnival’s casual dining impressed us from the start.

A fan favorite for good reason;  juicy burgers, flavorful toppings, and a perfect pool-deck lunch option.

Breakfast here quickly became a favorite. Fresh, tasty, and an easy way to start the day.

The large pool-deck screen showing movies and entertainment made evenings feel extra special.

Water slides and kid-friendly spaces were thoughtfully placed and never felt overwhelming.

Evening Ambiance

As night fell, the ship transformed with beautiful lighting that created a magical nighttime vibe.

🏖️ Celebration Key: Carnival’s New Private Destination

Carnival clearly put a lot of care into Celebration Key, and it shows. This destination exceeded expectations and offered something for every type of traveler.

Highlights of Celebration Key

• Cabanas with Swim-Up Access: Privacy curtains, shade, and easy pool access made these feel luxurious.
• Hammocks & Loungers: Plenty of spots to relax whether you prefer sun or shade.
• Sunshine Swings Bar: An adults-only bar with swing-style seats; fun, unique, and memorable.
• Family & Kids’ Area: Located near the sandcastle, with water slides and multiple swim zones.
• Dining & Shopping: Food trucks, restaurants, and souvenir shops throughout the island.
• Excursion Access: Guests can depart directly from Celebration Key for excursions and return to enjoy the island before reboarding.

 

🌟 Final Thoughts

This Seminar at Sea reminded us how much Carnival has evolved. From great dining and thoughtfully designed spaces to the standout experience at Celebration Key, this sailing was full of pleasant surprises.
